About
the note
1935 ഏപ്രിൽ 1-ന് Reserve
Bank of India നിലവിൽ വന്നതിന് ശേഷം കറൻസി ഇഷ്യൂ ചെയ്യുന്ന ചുമതല RBI ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. 1938 ജനുവരി മാസം ജോർജ്ജ് ആറാമന്റെ ഛായാചിത്രത്തോടു കൂടിയ നോട്ടുകൾ RBI യുടെ പേരിൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങി. 1928-വരെ ഇന്ത്യക്കു പുറത്താണ് നോട്ടുകൾ പ്രിന്റ് ചെയ്തിരുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ 1928 മെയ് മാസത്തിൽ Nasik-ൽ കറൻസി പ്രസ്സ് സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിനു ശേഷം ഇന്ത്യയിൽ തന്നെ നോട്ടുകൾ പ്രിന്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങി. മുൻ സീരീസുകളെ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു കൂടുതൽ മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട സുരക്ഷാ സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ ആയിരുന്നു King's Portrait Series- ൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്.
രണ്ടാം ലോകമയുദ്ധവേളയിൽ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇന്ത്യൻ കറൻസി കളുടെ ഉയർന്ന നിലവാരത്തിലുള്ള കള്ള നോട്ടുകൾ ജപ്പാൻ വ്യാപകമായി പുറത്തിറക്കി. അതിനാൽ നോട്ടുകളുടെ സുരക്ഷാ സംവിധാനങ്ങളിൽ മാറ്റങ്ങൾ വരുത്തേണ്ടത് അനിവാര്യമായി വന്നു. വാട്ടർ മാർക്കിലുള്ള വ്യത്യാസം, ജോർജ്ജ് ആറാമന്റെ അർദ്ധ മുഖ ചിത്രത്തിന് പകരം പൂർണ്ണ മുഖമുള്ള ചിത്രം, ആദ്യമായി ഇന്ത്യൻ കറന്സികളിൽ ചേർക്കപ്പെട്ട Security thread സംവിധാനം എന്നിവയാണവ. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യാനന്തരം മൂന്ന് വർഷത്തിന് ശേഷം 1950-ൽ Indian rupee നിലവിൽ വരുന്നത് വരെ King's Portrait Seriesനോട്ടുകൾ പ്രചാരത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
Imperial State Crown
The Imperial State Crown is one of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom and symbolises the sovereignty of the monarch. It has existed in various forms since the 15th century. The current version was made in 1937 and is worn by the monarch after a coronation ceremony (St Edward's Crown having been used to crown the monarch) and during his or her speech at the annual State Opening of Parliament. It contains 2,901 precious stones, including Cullinan II – the second-largest clear cut diamond in the world.
The crown was remounted for the coronation of George VI in 1937 by Garrard & Co, and adjusted for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, with the head size reduced and the arches lowered by 25 mm (1 inch) to give it a more feminine appearance.

About the Governor

Chintaman Dwarakanath Deshmukh
C.D. Deshmukh was the First Indian Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and later became Finance Minister and was a member of the Indian Civil Service. He was a Member of the Board of Governors for ten Years. He was President of the Indian Statistical Industries in 1945-1964. He was appointed as India’s Special Financial Ambassador to America and Europe in 1949. He founded the India International Centre for which he was the Life President in 1959. Vice Chancellor of Delhi University in 1962-1967.
In 1968 the words “on demand” were removed from the RBI Governor’s promise and these words are not found on present day issues. Various colours are found on this Note (Violet, Red, Brown, Orange and Green) along with a rudimentary security thread.

ഭാരത റിസർവ്വ് ബാങ്കിന്റെ ഭാരതീയനായ ആദ്യത്തെ തലവനും 1950–1956 കാലത്തെ കേന്ദ്ര ധനകാര്യ മന്ത്രിയുമായ സി.ഡി. ദേശ് മുഖ്(ചിന്താമൻ ദ്വാരകനാഥ് ദേശ്മുഖ്) മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ റായ്ഗഡ് ഫോർട്ടിനടുത്ത നാടായിൽ ജനിച്ചു. (14 ജനുവരി 1896 – 2 ഒക്ടോ: 1982).കേംബ്രിഡ്ജിലെ ജീസസ് കോളേജിൽ നിന്നും ഉന്നത നിലയിൽ ബിരുദപഠനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ദേശ്മുഖ് 1918 ൽ ഇൻഡ്യൻ സിവിൽ സർവ്വീസിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു.തുടർന്ന് 1939 ൽ റിസർവ്വ് ബാങ്കിലേയ്ക്കു ലൈസൺ ഓഫീസറായി നിയമിയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ബാങ്കിന്റെ സെക്രട്ടറിയായും,1941 മുതൽ 1943 വരെ ഡപ്യൂട്ടി ഗവർണറായും 1943–50 വരെ റിസർവ്വ് ബാങ്ക് ഗവർണറായും ചുമതല വഹിച്ചു.അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര സാമ്പത്തിക സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ രൂപീകരണവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് 1944ൽ നടന്ന ബ്രെട്ടൺവുഡ്സ് സമ്മേളനത്തിലും ദേശ്മുഖ് പങ്കെടുക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.
