Old Indian Currency Notes ₹5 issue signed by H. V. R. Iyengar (Governor, 1957-1962) and P. C. Bhattacharya (Governor, 1962-1967).


5  during the tenure of HVR Iyengar
During the tenure of HVR Iyengar (RBI Governor from 01.03.1957 to 28.02.1962) the shape of the water-mark windows were changed slightly both on the front and back compared to the previous one, but the general design and language pattern was retained.


5 during the tenure of P.C. Bhattacharya
During the tenures of the next RBI Governor P.C. Bhattacharya (RBI Governor: 01.03.1962 -30.06.1967) some changes in the design were introduced. The text ‘ पांच रुपये ’ added near large numeral “5”. The picture of the Antelopes also replaced with 3 standing deer.
